Swimming at Rockville State School
Rockville State School offers children access to the swimming pool to encourage water safety and a healthy lifestyle. Swimming is supervised by staff who have a current first aid certificate and or pool safety certificate.
Formal swimming lessons are held in terms 1 and 4 as part of the physical education program.
Computers and Technology
Computers and technology are used regulary by students and staff at Rockville State School. Students have access to educational games, typing practice as well as opportunities to create computer based work.
Keeping in line with modern technologies, the school has a number of iPad's that children are able to use for creating movies and presentations, documenting the highlights of day-to-day activities at Rockville, and creating short films and other presentations as part of their classroom learning.
The school also provides students opportunities to engage in robotics. Students are able to build and program lego robots to move around a circuit. Minecraft Education, games and programs are also available for use in class technology times or on a Friday afternoon for Hi5 Cafe.
